It draws on the experience and expertise of Umm Al-Qura University, through the Institute of Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers, in partnership with Wadi Makkah for Knowledge and leading institutions across the Arab world, and leads to the award of an official certificate issued by Umm Al-Qura University upon successful completion.

Basic Stage

Level Description: Includes levels 1-4

Focus: Learners are introduced to essential vocabulary and widely used expressions, enabling them to start speaking Arabic with confidence from the very beginning. This stage builds a solid linguistic foundation for everyday communication.

Duration: 40 hours per level. 4 levels × 40 hours = 160 hours

 

Intermediate Stage

Level Description: Includes levels 5-8

Focus: This stage focuses on expanding learners’ vocabulary and introducing more advanced linguistic structures. Learners develop stronger communication skills and gain greater fluency in a variety of contexts. This stage is intended for academic use and is suitable for students preparing to undertake undergraduate study at an Arabic-language university.

Duration: 40 hours per level. 4 levels × 40 hours = 160 hours

 

Advanced Stage

Level Description: Includes advanced levels designed for proficient learners

Focus: Learners are prepared to engage with advanced academic and professional discourse, analyse and discuss Arabic literary texts, and communicate fluently and confidently across formal, scholarly, and real-world contexts. This stage is intended for academic use and is suitable for graduate students planning to pursue postgraduate study at an Arabic-language university.

Duration: Flexible- tailored to the learner’s level and goals.

Description of the Levels (Basic Stage)

Level 1

Level 1 introduces learners to everyday Arabic through practical themes. Learners develop the ability to use simple expressions and sentences related to daily life, laying the foundation for basic communication in Arabic.
